Fletcher to join SAG-AFTRA forum on racism Nov. 13 in Seattle

SEATTLE — A career in the entertainment or broadcast industry can be unbelievably rewarding. It can also be an incredibly frustrating mix of discrimination and lack of opportunity. That’s why SAG-AFTRA has invited new, experienced, and pre-union members — and all other interested members of the community — to a discussion about racism with a panel of professionals including longtime civil rights activist Bill Fletcher, Jr. from 6 to 8 p.m. this Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Eclectic Theater, 1214 10th Ave. in Seattle.

This forum will consider: how do we build an inclusive, non-discriminatory industry? Participants will talk about the business today through the lens of those on the panel and in the room, and explain what union members are doing to ensure their rights in the workplace today and in the future.

All are welcome to attend this event, SAG-AFTRA’s inaugural diversity seminar in Seattle. Each seminar will have a specialized focus to address the unique challenges facing a particular population of SAG-AFTRA members.
